The Iron Furnace 2011 16.3h ch gelding

Wow, this guy is quite the package: he ticks all the boxes for size, conformation, soundness and demeanor and at least one of our volunteers has a crush on him! He is described by his owner as being a friendly horse who loves mints, carrots and attention. He’s laid back in and out of his stall and is further described as a “push button” horse who is a steady eddy on the track and in the barn. His exercise rider endorses this and told us that he is a dream to gallop. We were very impressed with just about everything about him. He has a solid body with a powerful engine and strong, beautiful shoulder and a pretty face with soft eyes. What’s not to love?

He has had a good race record, having notched 4 wins, 5 seconds and 3 thirds in 28 lifetime starts, earning his keep and keeping his place in the shedrow this season. Now, as the competition ramps up and his conditions are more difficult, his connections are thanking him for his contribution to racing and moving him on to one very lucky person who recognizes his potential and jumps on him.

We were thrilled to see his movement at the walk and the jog with big, sweeping movement that floated him across the ground, displayed in a nice frame with pretty head and neck carriage. We feel confident that this horse is one of the bargains of the season and hope to follow his career off the track.
