Tongo Lele, 2010 15.3 h dark bay filly

We were told that this lovely girl was named after a famous Puerto Rican dancer because of the way she moved as a baby. Her connections bred and raised Tongo Lele and they will part with her with heavy hearts, while anticipating updates about her new career. Tongo has a beautiful, balanced build with a nice shoulder, topped off with a shining and dappled coat that is missed in the gloomy light of the rainy day we were faced with for her photo session. Her owner/trainer enthused about her wonderful personality, love of attention and great work ethic. She is described as very athletic and wonderful to gallop. But, she has not shown enough racing ability, so they want to find her a new career where her athleticism will serve her well.  With her size and light number of races, we think polo may be her niche, but we can also see her eventing, jumping, or even barrel racing. Incidentally, Tongo is the last foal by Crusader Sword, a long time leading NY sire, grandson of Damascus, and sire of the late, great racehorse, Tin Cup Chalice, who was based at Finger Lakes, and was a multiple Stakes winner, including a rare sweep of the Big Apple Triple.

Purchase of Tongo will require references and they will be checked.
