Torcci 2013 16.2 h chestnut gelding

Torcci (cute name!) was known to us before we took his listing today. His trainer is convinced that he was abused prior to coming to him, while he was racing in Louisiana. He is territorial in his stall and is reluctant to be caught in his stall, although he will happily come front and center when he hears a peppermint wrapper. Torcci’s groom gets along well with him and vice versa, so he is capable of forming a trusting relationship, with a soft touch that comes from mutual respect. Torcci is already a big boy and still has lots of growing to do. We admired his shiny copper coat and beautiful build with lovely neck and shoulder. Torcci is relatively lightly raced with only 16 starts and 3 wins, 1 second and 1 third, so he has his racing chops, but it’s taken a toll on his young body. He has a set osselet on his left front but is reported to be racing sound on it. His trainer just doesn’t want to push him anymore, and we share his opinion that some time off being a horse and bonding with his human will yield a very nice riding buddy. As we were passing by his barn later in the morning, another trainer in his shedrow told us that Torcci has a ton of personality and amuses them on a daily basis, playing with anything left near his stall and mugging for mints. It’s always nice to hear endorsements from others who see the horses on a daily basis.
