Uncommon Grounds, 2008 16.2+h dark bay gelding

Hello gorgeous — with curled ears as a beauty bonus!  This stunning, and very kind big boy is one of his trainer’s all time favorite horses. She says she tries not to get attached to them, but she couldn’t help herself with this one because he is just so special and beautiful and friendly and has been such a hard trying consistent race horse. He has 40 in the money finishes in 69 starts, with 9 wins. And he has still been winning this year.  But now it is time to let him enjoy retirement to a great new career. With his stunning solid bodied good looks, great shoulder, nice topline, laid back demeanor, and very nice movement with suspension, we can see him being a star as a show hunter. But we think he would also enjoy eventing, dressage, or just taking you on trails and hunter paces.  Uncommon Grounds was recently gelded to help him find a great new home. But his trainer says that during his “intact” days he was never studdish and was always a sweet, kind, easy to handle horse. He has a great sport pedigree. He is by Jump Start, a son of AP Indy. His dam is by Cryptoclearance, a Fappiano son, and is out of mare with Northern Baby, Raja Baba, and Hail to Reason in her pedigree. Uncommon Grounds has a full brother who is the much beloved steady eddie all around horse for one of the pony riders at the track, and that horse does everything from ponying racehorses in a western saddle, to beautifully jumping hunter courses at shows in an English saddle, to giving rides to his owner’s young daughter or letting her crawl all over him.  We can see Uncommon Grounds being the same sort of cherished all around wonderful horse as his full brother.
