Nicknamed “Buddy” because he wants to be friends with everybody, West Bay Road is a beautiful, sweet boy who is kid safe and a total mush. The connections’ 7 year old granddaughter is especially attached to him and he is gentle enough to allow her to pick his feet and groom him. His handler stated that he does everything right, turns out with other geldings in the winter and is a problem free member of their stable. He is endorsed by his track pony girl who absolutely loves him! West Bay Road is reported to be sound and we saw clean, tight legs that raced just a few days before our interview with him. He is not as competitive this year and doesn’t like the newly surfaced racetrack and, as a 6 year old, his racing days are behind him. We know that grays are popular and we agree that this gelding is as handsome as they come, but his sweet personality puts him in a special category of horses that tick all the boxes, and then some!
