Whitegate offers what everyone says they are looking for — a young,  big, handsome, sound, and nice moving gelding with unlimited athletic potential for a new career.  With his solid bodied conformation and good looks and movement, we can see him making a very nice show hunter or excelling in eventing. We admired his adorable, dishy face and intelligent, laid back winning personality. He was definitely a volunteer favorite on a day when we saw many really nice horses!  He was a perfect gentleman for his photos, and he jogged quietly on a loose lead, showing very nice balanced movement — although given the extreme heat and humidity of the day, neither Whitegate nor his trainer who was jogging him really wanted to move with much pep in their step! His trainer described him as sound with no vices. He is ready to move him on to a new career, because, as is often the case, Whitegate has gone through his race conditions, putting him in tougher company. His trainer/owner also has expressed a desire to whittle down the number of horses he has, especially as the end of the racing season approaches. Whitegate  has compiled a 4-7-0 record out of 24 lifetime starts and it’s now time to call it a day. Whitegate is by Desert Party, who is a son of Street Cry, and he is out of an Honour and Glory mare, from the Relaunch/In Reality sire line. These are excellent bloodlines for sporting disciplines.
