Won’t Burn, 2013 17.2h bay gelding

What a gorgeous sweetheart — his owner describes him as a “Great Dane in your lap”!  He is breathtakingly beautiful in person — the photos do not do him justice.  Wont’ Burn has excellent very well balanced conformation for such a big horse, and he has light floaty beautiful movement.  We think he is an outstanding prospect for so many disciplines — he can excel in the show hunter ring, in dressage, in eventing.  His current owner worked for his race trainer, and in addition to handling Won’t Burn around the barn, she ponied him to the races in the afternoon — and she fell head over heels in love with her gentle giant.  She deals with hundreds of horses at the track, and this big guy captured her heart in a way that only one other horse ever has. So you just know he is very special!  Won’t Burn has raced only 12 times, with seven in the money finishes but no wins. So when Won’t Burn bled in his last race at the end of September, the trainer realized that racing was not the best discipline for him, and he let his current owner have him to try to make him into a track pony.  But she has sadly realized she just doesn’t have time to devote to him, and that he is so talented for a show/sporting career that it would be best for Won’t Burn to find the perfect forever home that will bring out his outstanding potential.  She will not let her beloved all time favorite horse go to a reseller, and she will be very picky about the home, and will expect regular updates.  She says he is a one person horse who wants to bond with his person, and will look for you and nicker each time he sees you, and will want to be your forever best friend. Although he is huge, is is very kind and gentle, and her young daughter handles him and loves on him. She says is is great to handle, good for the farrier and for having his teeth done,  and she has ridden him in an indoor arena both western and english and he is a very quick learner and eager to please.  For his jog video, even though he had just lost a front shoe, and was jogging on uneven pavement, he displayed light floaty movement with  an  even cadence.  He is by Wilburn, a son of Bernardini, and his dam is by Polish Numbers, a son of Danzig.   This is one very special horse who we think has upper level or A circuit potential!
