PARS HEY ZEUS, 2018 16.h, gray or roan gelding

Pars Hey Zeus was our token gray horse of the day, and what a lovely example he was! He has beautiful dapples and fortunately (for anyone who has ever had to groom a gray horse), he is also reportedly great with baths! His trainer noted that he is a “gentle soul” who needs a kind hand; he seems to be a horse that craves and thrives when he receives positive reinforcement. He was chill while being positioned for his photos, standing like a statue while his handler played with his forelock. Later, we learned that he loves having his face rubbed. His handler did not report any stable vices to us. We observed good feet on a cute horse that has nice balance and correction proportions. The trainer commented that he’s a bit on the lean side right now from where she typically likes her horses, but we learned that he does love to eat, so once off the track with continued good nutrition, he should fill out and muscle up nicely. He was relaxed and cooperative, and displayed cute jog movement. He is a homebred who we were told  as a 3 year old, ran well a few times but then petered out. He was reported to us to be sound, just “slower than dirt”. With 13 starts, as he has yet to break his maiden and has only been on the boards twice, we might tend to agree. Pars Hey Zeus is by Encaustic, with Hoist the Flag on the sire side, and out of a Holy Bull mare.

Price: $3,500 neg.

STARSHIP RAJAH, 2019 15.2+h, bay filly

When this super cute filly walked out of the barn with her lovely dapples gleaming in the fall sunshine and then turned her pretty face towards us, several volunteers simultaneously exclaimed, “Freud!” And yes, we quickly confirmed that this lovely girl is indeed a Freud baby! And a friendly snuggler. She stood patiently while she was posed for her confirmation shots, demonstrating how much she clearly wants to be your new selfie partner. We admired her graceful and feminine head and neck, her long sloping shoulder, and her balanced proportions. She’s an adorable sweet nugget and a very pretty girl! She’s only had 3 starts, last running in August after which her left knee appeared to bother her. But since then she has been given time off, and has not done any hard work. With her less impressive performance on the track in her initial starts, her owner (who is shortly returning to Florida) would rather re-home her than carry her over the winter to race again. Her connections told us that her prognosis is fine for lower level activity. And the benefit to you is that she’s already had a head start in her let-down process and will be ready to start the transition to her new job that much quicker! We were told that she is good to work around in the barn and has no stable vices. Barefoot in her jog video, she displayed classic, low, daisy-cutter movement. As one volunteered quipped, she “wants to hunter”. With her pretty coloring and just enough eye-catching chrome, we think she’d have a lovely presence in the show ring. Starship Rajah is by the popular sport sire Freud whose offspring are noted for their good brains and jumping ability; she is out of Starship Sheba, with Relaunch / In Reality on her dam’s side in her pedigree

NAVY KING, 2019, 17.1h, dk. bay gelding

Admittedly, this handsome gelding was a tad distracted during his photos shoot. He is a fit, athletic youngster who is just coming off three months off to rehab his left front ankle. So, it is more than perfectly understandable that he was a little excited and a bit fresh. He last raced in mid- July. Following careful rehab, he’s been cleared to return to racing but since after ten starts he is yet to break his maiden, his connections would rather move him along to a career where he will have more success than risk re-injury. We especially liked his uphill build, overall angles and balance. He’s handsome and athletic. His handler expressed that he is probably best suited to an experienced OTTB owner. He’s not bad, but we were told that he will test his boundaries. We’d agree with this assessment as he also appears to be very athletic with cat-like grace. He demonstrated gorgeous, athletic movement with loft and suspension even though he also threw a shoe when we initially began filming. We could definitely see him as a potential event horse, burning up a cross country course! And this well-bred youngster has the excellent sport-horse pedigree to support this. His sire Midshipman is by Unbridled’s Song out of a mare from Seattle Slew and Roberto lines.  Navy King’s dam comes from the same direct female family as Quiet American and Fappiano, two of the best and most sought after sires in sport horse pedigrees.

CENTUAL ANNA, 2020 14.2 h dark bay filly

Centual Anna might be small but she is mighty!  And cavity-inducing sweet! “Sweet baby munchkin” was the phrase used by one of our volunteers to accurately describe this girl! And she literally had all of our volunteers cooing how “adorable” she was. Anna seemed to be very well-handled and relished the admiration. As she is only 2, she could perhaps continue to grow a few inches taller. But she is also well-built, stocky and sturdy. We loved that she was friendly, curious, and cooperative.

We were told that she is a good girl in both her stall and to ride, without any vices being reported to us. In her photos, you may notice some patches of discoloration especailly on her face; earlier this year, when she came off the farm she had a skin disease from which she is still recovering. She is reported to us as sound; she does has a LH splint but we were told that this has never bothered her. She stayed relaxed and work on a loose lead for her walk video, she was more happy and animated for her jog and we observed cute, springy movement.

She is very lightly raced with only a single start where she failed to impress. Her trainer even stated that she was the “slowest horse on Finger Lakes racetrack”.  While that may be true, we would argue that she might also be the cutest!

Centual Anna is by Central Banker our of a Possee mare with Flatter also on her mare side.

DRAGON BALLET, 2019 16h chestnut gelding

With plenty of chrome, this boy WILL get you noticed! A leggy 3 year old right now, can you imagine what a ‘Mr. Flashy-pants’ he will grow up into? He was described to us as a “happy, get up, and go boy” who wants to go to work every day. His trainer says that he is a horse who “needs a job” to keep his mind occupied. Showing off the unique splash of white behind his girth, this boy showed us that he knows how to strike a pose; he was very cooperative for our photos. We like his long shoulder and nicely proportioned body. We’re told that he is “perfect” in his stall (this barn mucks out while horses are in their stalls, so manners are important!).We were told that he’s sound; he was sick and off feed for a little bit and is just now regaining back some weight he lost (note: this is not unusual… like a Kindergarten class in September, as the new crop of two-year-olds come to the track, they often bring along some new bugs to share with their stablemates). He was quiet and relaxed during his video, even patiently allowing his handler to stop and pick up a dropped cell phone. He displayed a nice walk overstep and a cute jog. We can envision a bright future for him in either the dressage or hunter ring. He is by Trinniberg, out of  Crazy Cat Lady, a Freud mare. And, he is very lightly raced with only 4 starts. Dragon? No way! If anything, the mystical creature that we think that he most closely channels is a unicorn.

THERESA’S BOY, 2015 16.1h bay gelding

This lovely gelding is a trainer favorite! She could not say enough nice things, including that “what you see is what you get” as Theresa’s Boy offered snuggles to our volunteers and calmly walked out of his stall. She said he has a wonderful disposition, is easy to work around and ride. She reports no stall vices and no past injuries.  Theresa’s Boy has been with the same trainer for the last 4 years and she absolutely adores him! Theresa’s Boy is by Graydar who is son of the highly sought after Unbridled Song line and out of a Dehere mare, who’s known for throwing sensible, smart types. He is out of a Bernardini mare who is highly desired by dressage riders, and our volunteers agreed with his lovely, long over tracking stride that he could most certainly excel in that arena- or any!  Don’t miss this guy who is the entire package.

EMCEE PRIME, 2017 17.3+h dark bay stallion

Located at a farm directly next door to the Finger Lakes Race Track in Farmington, NY (near Rochester, NY). This big guy is an absolute barn favorite and the best of homes is an absolute must. His connections are very devoted to finding “Socks” the most fitting home. Socks was enjoying turnout when we arrived at the farm for his photo shoot. He quietly transitioned away from his buddies for  photos and a jog video, despite his pals playing in the background. Socks has quite the presence and our volunteers felt that “Fabio” would be a good nickname for him. He was shaping up to be a good race horse when he sustained a tendon injury. Socks’ rehab was managed precisely and with frequent veterinarian involvement. He had a full year off and was cleared to start racing again. However, his connections felt strongly about not pushing him and instead want to see him succeed in a discipline other than racing. They report that he has no vices and is well mannered, but prefers having a job. He looks forward to his turnout time each day. His trainer’s teenage daughter has been riding him at the farm and reports he is good to ride. She reports she also recently had her senior pictures done with Socks because of how handsome and photogenic he is. Socks love treats and lots of opportunities to graze. He was very well mannered for his jog video and displayed big, floaty movement. He had good hind engagement with some knee action, leading us to think he would make a fancy dressage prospect. However, his connections report he jumped out of the pasture multiple times as a yearling, so we know there’s some jumping ability in there too! Due to his size, he would likely not be the best fit for a timid rider/handler. Emcee Prime is by Emcee out of a Tiznow mare. Finding the perfect home is very important to Emcee Prime’s connections and they would like to follow him in his next career. They are known for being very honest and taking exceptional care of their horses and are overall lovely trainers to work with.

MS PENELOPEPITSTOP, 2018 16h chestnut filly

Located at a farm directly next door to the Finger Lakes Race Track in Farmington, NY (near Rochester, NY). Miss Penny is not your typical chestnut gal: her connections describe her as honest, personable, and loving. She has a strong work ethic, and an energy level that does best with a competitive training schedule, but she is not marish or unruly: she just likes to work. Penny has had 12 starts, earning $30,000 with 2 wins, 1 second, and 3 thirds. This honest young girl had a slight strain in her suspensory during a race. There was no tear and she remained sound, but there was some mild swelling.  She was given some time off and the swelling went down in a few days. She has been enjoying playing in a field and the swelling has not returned. Her connections are choosing not to push her, and are hoping that she’ll find a passion for a new career with a new set of humans to call her own. Penny is reported to be sound with no vices, good to work around, and good in turn out. She is a forever favorite of her trainer because of her lovely temperament. Everyone knows that a good mare will be loyal to the end, and this girl seems to shine with possibilities. In the meantime, she’s turned out on the farm waiting patiently for you to come pick her up as your next sporthorse prospect! Penny was very quiet for her photo shoot, despite her friends causing quite the raucous in the field  just next to her. She jogged politely and showed good movement despite missing a shoe and having to dodge potholes in the road. We think Penny will make someone very happy!! Penny is by Tapiture, out of a Double Honor mare.

SARATOGA PROMISE, 2016 16.2h bay gelding

Located at a farm in Victor NY near the Finger Lakes Race Track.
Look at this flashy big guy with all that eye-catching chrome!  Another quality  horse from great track connections, Saratoga Promise impressed us with his solid bone, uphill build, strong shoulder, and elegant presence. His trainer says he is sound and good to work with, and has no vices.  He is a big strong horse, so an experienced rider would be the best fit for him.  He had just raced three days before we saw him, and far from showing any stiffness or fatigue from racing exertions,  he showed good lofty movement with some toe flicking reach from the shoulders and good push from behind. The trainer reports that he is sound, but after starting his racing career with great promise, winning on the top level NYRA circuit and in allowance level races, this year he seems to have lost interest in racing. He has won 4 of his 17 starts.  He is very well bred, with a pedigree that will make aficionados of the top sport horse lines swoon.  His sire is Violence, a leading sire son of the great Medaglia D’Oro. This is the El Prado/Sadler’s Wells sire line that i the most sought after by eventers.   Violence is out of a Gone West mare — another excellent sport horse sire. Saratoga Promise’s dam is by Bernardini, an AP Indy son and Quiet American grandson whose offspring have excelled in dressage and eventing and jumping. His dam is out of a Pleasant Colony mare, which is the Majesty/Ribot sire line. This guy offers what everyone looking for a top level sport horse prospect says they want, so act fast if you want to bring this stunning well bred guy home.

RALLY CAP, 2016 16.1h chestnut gelding

Located at a farm in Victor NY near Finger Lakes Race Track
Rally Cap comes from top quality connections who always have nice horses, and he impressed us as another that should be highly sought after. The trainer told us that he is a “pleasure to work around,” a well behaved gentleman, with no vices. We got to experience his friendly personality as we waited outside his stall, and he enjoyed our pats and scritches. He is a beautifully put together horse, with solid bone, a great shoulder, strong hind end, good topline, and a very pretty head.  He looks like he could walk right into the show hunter ring. He showed a nice flowing walk, and a cute flat kneed trot.  Rally Cap has a good racing record, with 5 wins, 5 seconds, and 3 thirds in 27 starts. But this year he is not as competitive, so his trainer knows it is a good time to let him move on to a new career. He is by Graydar, who is a son of Unbridled’s Song out of a Dehere (Deputy Minister) mare.  One of our volunteers has a Graydar, who is the sweetest horse with a great brain, so if Rally Cap is anything like her he will be a gem.  Rally Cap’s dam is by Macho Uno (Holy Bull) — Macho Uno is known for producing good jumpers and good movers.  This is an excellent sport horse pedigree for sure!

CHASING LOSSES, 2017 16h bay mare

“Chase” as she is lovingly referred to by her current connections, is described as an overall delight to be around. Her trainer, who has had Chase since she was 3, told us she is probably the nicest filly/mare he has ever worked with. She is reported to be great to ride and handle with a lovely temperament and no vices. Her connections could not find enough flattering words to describe her. Even with her winter furries coming in, we could see gorgeous dapples throughout her coat. She was super polite during her photo shoot and jog video, despite tarps flapping in the wind behind her. She had nice movement which appeared huntery to our volunteers, but surely she could go in many different directions. Finding the perfect home is very important to Chase’s connections. They are known for being very honest and taking exceptional care of their horses and are overall lovely trainers to work with. Despite her racing name, Chase has been a decent racehorse earning over $66,000 in her 34 starts with 4 wins, 3 seconds, and 5 thirds. This year, she has not been as competitive and is showing her connections that she is ready to slow down and move onto a new career. She will be RRP eligible for 2023. K AND G, 2018 15.2h chestnut gelding

Located at a farm directly next door to the Finger Lakes Race Track in Farmington, NY (near Rochester, NY). Our volunteers loved this roly poly guy. K and G was enjoying turnout when we arrived at the farm for his photo shoot. He quietly transitioned away from his buddies for a photos and a jog video, despite his pals playing in the background. His connections report that K is good to work around and has no vices. They also report he was good to ride at the track, and was just starting to “put it all together” as a racehorse.  In his last race, he came back sore on his right front knee. Xrays revealed a small chip in the upper joint, which could be removed. He shows no soreness with galloping on the track, but does get sore after races, which are much more strenuous. They feel that he would do best in disciplines less demanding than racing. His trainer reported he is very athletic and agile. He jogged politely for his video and showed nice, flat kneed movement with a big step. He has a big barrel that would take up a taller rider’s legs nicely. On the racetrack, K and G had 19 starts with 1 win and 3 thirds. His last race was at the end of September. Since then, he has been hanging out on the farm and enjoying turnout! He will be RRP eligible for 2023. K and G is by Big Brown out of a Bluegrass Cat mare. CHAPEL ROAD, 2019 16.2h bay colt

It is easy to see why this stunning big beautiful boy was snapped up immediately.  He has an elegant presence, hardly surprising given his blueblood pedigree.  He is described as friendly, sensible, smart, and athletic.  He wowed our volunteers and shoppers with his floaty ground covering trot — his movement had both the show hunter riders and the dressage riders in our group coveting him equally. He has yet to win after 7 starts, proving that while he is very sound, he is slow. He is sired by leading sire Quality Road, who stamps his offspring with his elegant bay good looks.  His dam, Divine Luck, is by Ghostzapper and is from the best Phipps female family in the US stud book — the direct female family of current superstar Flightline, as well as Hall of Famer Heavenly Prize, Breeder’s Cup winner Dancing Spree, and may other champions and stakes winners.

TWELVE YEAR MAC, 2019 16+h bay gelding

Any Macallan scotch fans out there? Then this “twelve year Mac” is definitely for you! Like his namesake, we think this elegant and still growing young gelding is one smooth drink. Known as “Justin” around the barn (after his sire), his trainer says that he is a sweetheart, easy to work with, and very sensible.  She also reports that he turns out well with other horses, but will play halter tag. She says that Justin is an easy horse to ride on the track — “you just put your hands on his neck and he gallops right along.”   But his agreeable nature in morning training has not translated to racing success in the afternoon.  As his trainer says, he is completely sound but just not interested in racing fast. In twelve starts he has yet to win, while bringing home a few minor placings. We saw Justin three days after he had raced, and he showed lovely flowing movement with some loft to his trot.  Justin is still growing, and is likely to top out at over 16.1 — his trainer says she sticked him in April at 15.3, and when we assessed him on October 1st he was slightly over 16 hands. In addition to admiring Justin’s strong shoulder and elegant head and neckset, we noticed that he has excellent feet, with much more heel than one usually sees on racehorses. He also has an excellent sport horse pedigree. His sire is Justin Phillip, is from Giant’s Causeway, Cryptoclearance/Fappiano, and Dixieland Band lines.  His dam is by Speightstown, from the Gone West sire line. Justin has unlimited potential for any new discipline, but we can see him excelling in eventing, dressage, or as a show hunter.  For such a nice young horse, he is offered at a bargain price, so we recommend acting fast if you are interested.

MONTANA’SBIGSUNSET, 2018 16.3+h bay gelding

This beautiful, solid-bodied warmblood imposter is what everyone says they want:  big young sound flashy gelding who is a good mover and has a great sport horse pedigree. Remember the beautiful mare Lasagna, that so many coveted when we listed her a month ago? Montana’sbigsunset is her half brother, out of the same dam, Wild in Montana. Sunset is by Big Brown, from the Danzig sire line, and a deservedly popular sport horse sire. We watched Sunset being groomed without being tied up, and his handler, who is also the contact person, confirmed that he is a pleasure to work with and has no vices. We also noted dapples shining through from the growing in winter coat — imagine this flashy big bay with chrome dappled out in the summer! Montana’sbigsunset is reported to be sound with no issues or vices, and we observed clean legs.  His handler says that he is very good to ride. But, in his races he either does not like horses running up onto his hind end, or when he is in front, he waits for his pack to catch up with him.  Not surprisingly, given these preferences, Sunset  has yet to win in his 11 starts (8 this year, so he is fully RRP eligible) , although he has earned some seconds and thirds.  But the good news is that in sporting disciplines such as eventing, dressage, jumpers, and hunters, Sunset can be in the ring by himself to show off his good looks and great movement! Sunset enjoyed posing in the sun for his photos, and for his jog video he displayed very good movement with loft and reach that has us thinking he can excel in any sport horse endeavor. He is sired by Big Brown, who if from the Danzig sire line out of a Nureyev/Northern Dancer mare.  His dam, Wild in Montana, is by Yankee Victor, who is from Halo and Caro lines.  On Sunset’s dam side more crosses with Caro are in the pedigree.

CHEF PETER JULIEN, 2020 15.2h chestnut gelding

A delectable offering indeed — Chef Peter is a beautiful and still growing unraced two year old who does have one timed workout on October 19, so he is RRP eligible. His trainer reports that Peter needs to go to a farm for the winter and finish growing up physically and mentally, rather than being pushed to get to the races in the last month of the Finger Lakes racing season.  But the owner decided that he would rather let him move on to a new career.  Peter’s potential is unlimited, but he will benefit from the maturing time recommended by his track trainer.  She told us that Peter is good to ride and has never done anything wrong with a rider on his back, just galloping around.  But his immaturity comes out more on the ground. Chef Peter is a very pretty eye-catching  horse,  and is described as sound — he has little wear and tear on those legs!  Horses with longer backed conformation like his are often excellent jumpers. Since he is only 2, he surely will grow some more, and may top out at closer to 16h.  For his jog video he showed off cute movement with good push from behind.  He has a great sport horse pedigree. His sire is Alpha, who is by Bernardini out of a Nijinsky mare.  His dam, Perfect Freud is by Freud, who is a full brother to Giant’s Causeway, and is equally as popular as a sport horse sire as the great GC.  Perfect Freud was a stakes placed successful racemare, and if she has passed her competitive heart on to her young son, he could turn out to be quite the sport horse.

THESIS, 2016 16.1h grey gelding

Our thesis about this beautiful and adorable grey gelding is that one does not need any advanced academic study to find him a very appealing sport horse prospect.  He had our volunteers exclaiming “adorable” over and over, as we enjoyed his friendly personality, and his amazing patience as we repeatedly asked his trainer, who speaks limited English, to move him one step forward or one step back to get a good conformation photo.  Thesis patiently just went along with whatever he was being asked to do, and happily accepted our attention and pats. He has clean legs, a good top line, and a beautiful expression. For his video he displayed a good swinging walk, and a cute even trot with good push from behind and good reach in front.   We were told that he is sound. He secured his 6th career victory in late July, but since then, having to face tougher conditions, he has not shown the same level of competitiveness, so the owner, who is the contact person, told us that he thinks it is time to find him a new career. As we were taking his photos, the wife of his jockey, who works on the backside, came over to give us more information. She said that his jockey likes him a lot, but noted that he can get a bit body sore after a race. She also confirmed that he is a sweet horse, but can sometimes make grumpy faces, but is “all bark and no bite.” Thesis has 41 starts, with 6 wins, 8 seconds, and 8 thirds, and has earned over $185,000. He’s obviously got heart and try with that record, and well deserves to move on to a new life where he can be pampered. Based on his pedigree, he has excellent sport horse potential. He is by Paddy O’Prado, who is by El Prado from Sadler’s Wells and Kris S./Roberto lines.  Thesis’s dam is by Notebook, who is from Raja Baba/Bold Ruler and Tom Rolfe/Ribot lines, and throughout his stud career was a stallion much favored in sport horse disciplines.  On his dam side Thesis also comes from Damascus and Roberto lines. Overall he has a pedigree oriented to long distance turf racing, which bodes well for eventing, and makes it all the more remarkable that Thesis has had the heart and versatility to succeed in dirt racing.

HURRICANE ALPHA, 2017 16.1h chestnut gelding

Hurricane Alpha is one gorgeous hunk of a horse! This guy is solid! While Alpha may not be huge, his deep barrel will certainly take up a lot of leg! He is reported sound with no vices. His race trainer reports that he easy to be around and is very eager to please. He is straightforward and respectful to gallop but can get a bit strong. Alpha has no limitations, but per his trainer he just “doesn’t want to win”.  Our volunteers can see this horse excelling as an eventer, but with his flat-kneed movement he could also be great in the hunter ring. With his good bone, strong shoulder, very good movement, and an eager to please attitude, he could likely excel in any discipline.  Hurricane Alpha is by Alpha, who is a son of the highly sought after Bernardini and a Nijinsky mare. Hurricane Alpha’s dam is by Charismatic, who is a son of Summer Squall from teh Storm Bird branch of the Northern Dancer line.  This shiny, copper boy is sure to get you noticed in any show arena!

LIGHTNING ROB, 2017 17.2+h bay gelding

For all those looking for TALL, dark, and handsome, Lightning Rob is your man! Rob’s groom had nothing but positive things to say about him. He said he is very sweet, has a ton of personality, enjoys his grooming, and loves peppermints! He has no vices, but sometimes will make sassy faces in his stall.  His groom assured our volunteers, though, that he is far more “bark than bite”! He is reported sound, and likes to run long, suggesting he might enjoy eventing! Because of his size and young age, Rob’s connections suggest he is best suited for an experienced rider and handler. They think that in the hands of a professional his potential will shine. He is good to handle and gallop but can get a bit strong.  His natural overstride and “toe flicking” trot are sure to get him noticed in many arenas!  Lightning Rob is by Bayern who traces back to Wild Again and Thunder Gulch, and is out of an Unbridled Song mare with El Prado also on the dam side, all lending to a very desirable sport horse pedigree!

BARBARA’S BANK, 2017 15.3h chestnut mare

Barbara’s Bank is a sweet mare that is telling her connections that she just doesn’t want to run any more.  Her connections state that she is perfect to ride and gallop, that she takes no wrong steps, and is a joy to have in the barn.  She is reported to have no vices, and while she is a bit up at the track, it is said that kids handle her on the farm. She is reported sound, however, was a vet scratch from her last race. There was a strong pulse and the vet suspected an abscess.  She also once had a skin reaction to some medicated poultice, but it cleared up and has never happened again.  While Barbara was a bit up for her jog video from being off for the abscess, she was very polite with her handler.  Barbara is by Bank Heist, who is from the highly sought after Maria’s Mon sire line and out of a Dehere/Deputy Minister mare,  and Barbara’s dam is by Bandini, who is a son of Fusaichi Pegasus.

2020 Frost Giant Magic Queen 15.1h bay colt

If you’re looking for a complete blank slate, here it is. This adorable unregistered 2 year old colt is as well-mannered as he is cute. He is not yet started under saddle and unregistered, so he can be started in any way you chose. His race connections report that he is very sweet and very laid back. He is easy to work with around the barn. His half sister out of the same dam, Madeline Sweetie, sold earlier this year, quickly snapped up by an astute H/J trainer shopper out with our volunteers who was wowed by her fancy movement. This colt has the same potential, and the Frost Giant’s all tend to be excellent movers and jumpers with a brave forward thinking attitude. His race connections state that he has a very similar personality to the laid back and quiet Madeleine’s Sweetie, and they expect him to mature very similarly. This boy shows typical Frost Giant lofty movement. He is out of Magic Queen, who comes from Kingmambo and Meadowlake and Halo lines. He can be registered with the Jockey Club, with the name of your choice. Don’t miss your chance at a very attractive, completely blank slate.

MISS ROSS, 2016 16.1h chestnut mare

Miss Ross is so unique looking with her eye-catching white spots splashed across her chestnut coat. She struck as a very sensible laid back lady as we watched her trainer get her from the walking machine; he dropped the lead rope on the ground and she stood like an model as he took off her boots and wiped the dust off her legs to ready her for her photo session.  The trainer confirmed that she is indeed a very good girl, lovely and easy to handle, with no vices and a friendly kind attitude. He reports that she is sound although she sometimes gets stiff for a day or two after a race.  We saw her just a couple of days after she had raced and she looked good.  She has raced 28 times, with just one win to show for her efforts, so the trainer knows it is time to let her move on to a new career.  She has no known limitations for any discipline.  Her sire is Bob and John, who is a son of Seeking the Gold out of a Deputy Minister mare.  Her dam comes from Seattle Slew and Buckpasser lines — excellent sport horse lines.  Her dam sire is a half brother to Grand Slam, who was a very popular sport horse sire loved by eventers and H/J riders alike. Lots of potential in this spotted beauty!

STAR MANAGER, 2018 15.2h grey filly

Star Manager may not be a racetrack star, but she is sure to be a star in the show ring! This petite girl is her race trainer’s favorite, and our volunteers could see why! This sweet girl nuzzled both her trainer and our volunteers while she posed politely for her photo shoot.  Her trainer said over and over how much he was going to miss her, but that he knew it is time to let her find a new career.  Her exercise rider reported that she is lovely and straightforward to ride.  She is reported sound and to have no vices, other than being a peppermint hound! Our volunteers watched her jog after her last race and she was as quiet as she is in her jog video.  While she may be slight, she sure makes up for it in fanciness! Star displayed a natural over tracking walk and flat kneed jog.  Her tempo never faltered.  Her trainer thinks she would be the perfect hunter for the younger crowd, but we can see her excelling in just about anything! Star Manager is by Micromanage who is by the highly desirable Medaglia D’Oro and is out of an Incurable Optimist mare.

SWINGING STICKS, 2018 16.3h dark bay gelding

Tall dark and handsome? Check. Dapples for days? Check. Lovely to ride? Check. Here’s the young big sound fancy moving gelding that everyone asks for! Swinging Sticks is a horse that his trainer has had for the last year and they’ve enjoyed having him. He is lovely under tack, but his trainer does report that he does bite while being tacked up and because of this, she recommends an experienced handler.  Once in tack, she reports he is lovely to handle, and the volunteers witnessed this as he greeted them at the front of the stall in tack, looking for scratches!  For his jog video, Swinging Sticks demonstrated a lovely over tracking walk and a toe pointing jog with good reach. His movement is fancy enough for the hunter or dressage rings, but we also think he has great potential for eventing. He has 15 starts, with one win, and one third. With this record, his trainer realizes that racing is not his best game, but he has unlimited potential for a new sport horse career.  As his trainer told us, “he is such a nice horse, but just not a race horse.”  Swinging Sticks is by Effinex who is known to throw large, solid offspring with solid minds. Effinex is by Mineshaft, who is by AP Indy.  His dam is by Aptitude, another on of the great AP Indy.  Don’t miss out on the horse everyone wants!

OH DILLY, 2016 15.3h chestnut mare — new price!

Located at Finger Lakes Racetrack in Farmington, NY (near Rochester)
Fans of liver chestnuts — take a look at the lovely Dilly, who is a great sport horse prospect! Although her racing career began auspiciously with a 14 length victory in her MSW debut, Dilly’s form has tailed off. That, combined with races in her condition not going, means that her connections are reluctantly offering her to the perfect situation for her second career. She has an enticing pedigree for sport. Her sire, Honorable Dillon is a son of Tapit — which brings in the A. P. Indy sire line — and out of a mare from the Blushing Groom line. Oh Dilly is out of a mare who brings in the Gone West, Cox’s Ridge, and In Reality sire lines. Dilly is described as athletic and easy to ride. Her build and cattiness may be attractive to barrels and polo riders but her trainer believes that she is an open book suitable for any discipline. She has good ground manners, no stable vices and her trainer has turned her out with a herd without problems. While she has plenty of energy on the track, she is reported to be “a different horse” when she is at the farm, something that is true for many racehorses. Dilly has clean legs and sports an adorable dishy head, prompting her trainer to call her a “little guernsey cow”. Serious buyers will be required to provide ironclad references.

FLIRTACIOUS KISS, 2018 16h bay filly

This very pretty filly seems to be aptly named, since her groom told us that “she likes to kiss” and is a very sweet horse.  She told us that when Flirtacious Kiss has been on her owner’s farm, she has been so well behaved that the owner.breeder, who is not particularly experienced handling horses, has had no problems bringing her in and out from turnout.  We admired Flirtacious Kiss’s elegant good looks and balanced conformation, with a  strong sloping shoulder and big chest, and her beautiful  head.  For her jog video, she was a bit up because there were horses working out on the track right next to the road where she jogged, but she showed off moments of good suspension and reach from her shoulders.   We also noticed an enlargement on one ankle that looked like an osselet; the groom reported that it does not bother Flirtacious Kiss at all; and that appears to be the case when we looked at her racing record on Equibase, since she has been racing regularly every few weeks from late 2021 throughout this year. Flirtacious Kiss has 19 starts, and while she has often finished 2d, 3rd, or 4th and has earned nearly $32,000, she has yet to win, so her owner realizes it is time to let her find a new career. Flirtacious Kiss is by Alpha, a son of Bernardini, who is by AP Indy.  Bernardini offspring have become very popular with dressage riders.  Flirtacious Kiss’s dam is by Golden Missile, a son of AP Indy.

HEADSAIL, aka “Olaf,” 2015 16.3h grey gelding

Image

Olaf is what everyone covets — grey, big, solid boned,  a sweet personality, and a good mover.  We can see him foxhunting, or eating up the cross country course, or impressing the dressage judges. Olaf raced only three times when he was three, showing no aptitude, and was diagnosed with a knee chip.  He was then trained to be a racetrack pony horse, and he has been used in that job by several different people at different tracks.  His current owner who has been using him as a pony horse describes him as a really cool guy, who is loving, likes to cuddle, loves attention and TLC. She says he has been a great pony horse, but that he started developing erratic behavior, and she recenlty fell off of him and was injured, so since hse cannot rwork as a pony rider for a while, she has to find Olaf a new home. She told us that she thinks Olaf would prefer a life where he can get turned out, and will not have to endure the repetitive daily grind of being a track pony.  She reports that he has never been spooky, and has no vices, but she says because he is a big strong horse, she thinks he would be better off with an experienced rider,  The assistant trainer in the barn that Olaf’s owner works for told us that Olaf is great to have in the barn and is a horse who goes to work every day, during morning workouts, and at the races in the afternoon, and doesn’t get tired and just does his job and gallops kindly.  Olaf has solid bone, good big feet, a strong shoulder and hind end, and a kind eye and alert expression.  The assistant trainer could not jog him because he, the human, is lame, so he handed the lead shank over to one of our volunteers, who started out gingerly handling the unfamiliar big grey horse, and then she realized he was a gentleman and she could let him trot along. Olaf showed good movement, with a strong push from behind and some loft to his step.  He has an ideal sport horse pedigree. His sire is Mizzen Mast, who is a son of Cozzene from the Caro sire line. Mizzen Mast has Ribot, Prince John, and Tom Fool close up in his pedigree — stout old thoroughbred stamina lines seen too infrequently in modern US TB pedigrees. Olaf’s dam is by Hennessy out of a Grey Dawn mare. Hennessy offspring are known for good temperaments and jumping ability. Note, that because Olaf has not raced for several years, he is not RRP eligible.

SAVANNA GAL, 2019 15.2+h dark bay filly

This young filly by the ever popular sire Bustin Stones is an excellent prospect for polo or barrels.  Her trainer describes her as quick with good early speed, sound, no vices, and a very nice girl to handle.  But Savanna has not been sustaining her early speed in her races since moving into tougher conditions after a victory in the spring, so her trainer thinks it is a good time to let her move on to a new career where her quick speed does not have to be sustained over 3/4 of a mile or longer. The trainer reports that they have scoped Savanna Gal just to make sure that there is no breathing problem that causes her not to sustain her speed, and happily she scoped completely clean — no flap issues, no mucus, no signs of any problems.  We assessed Savanna’s height as between 15.2 and 15.3, and since she is three she may grow some more, but we think she will stay in the size range preferred for polo.  On the day we photographed Savanna she had just been handwalking since her race 4 days prior, so she was a bit up in the cool fall morning air, but she was very respectful of her handler, while showing light on her feet movement. She has 13 races with one win, and she has already had ten starts this year, which shows her hardiness and durability.  Her sire Bustin Stones, by City Zip, was a champion sprinter, and he has proved to be very popular as a sire of barrel racers, since he passes his hardiness and quickness on to his offspring. Savanna’s dam is by Harlan’s Holiday, who is not only the sire of the great Into Mischief, but is also a popular sport horse sire.

NO ENTIENDO, 2013 15.3h chestnut gelding

What’s not to understand?  This wonderful handsome hunk of a war horse has captured our volunteers’ hearts, for good reason.  He is classy, sound, smart, a good mover with solid bodied balanced conformation, and is a big hearted full of try horse.  His trainer says he is a sound and happy horse, great to work with, much loved, with a great work ethic but he just hasn’t been as competitive this year against younger competition. No Entiendo has accumulated an impressive racing record, with 7 wins, 21 additional in the money finishes, and over $192,000 in earnings in 64 starts.  He does have some mild ankle rounding, but his trainer says it never bothers him, and he has raced regularly without any issues or need for time off. No Entiendo was a perfect gentleman for his photo sessions, very friendly and eager for treats.  He jogged quietly and showed balanced movement with good push from behind.  he has great potential for any new discipline. He is sired by Bellamy Road, from the Danzig sire line, who has been a good sport horse sire whose offspring have good ammy friendly brains. His dam has Dynaformer close up in her pedigree.  We would love to see someone take No Entiendo to the 2023 RRP, where we think he will be a prime contender to win the Iron Horse award!

MARSHAL DILLON, 2019 16h bay gelding

We had fun watching this adorable and very friendly young horse play with his trainer.  He posed perfectly for his photo session, showing off his strong shoulder, topline, and neckset that lead us to think he has excellent sport horse potential.  His trainer reports that he is sound with no vices, but he is still growing, and gets stiff behind after he races on the hard track surface at Finger Lakes. We saw him three days after he had raced on a hard sealed sloppy track, and he still had toe grabs on behind, which were affecting his ability to push off his hind legs on the hard pavement at the jog. His trainer thinks that with normal non-racing hind shoeing, time to finish growing, and some turnout, he is going to be just fine. He would probably benefit from some chiro work as well.  She says that he is an affectionate and playful horse, and as a three -year old he can get a bit grabby with his mouth, but he quickly stops when gently told no. Marshal Dillon is lightly raced, with only 7 starts, and he has an excellent sport horse pedigree.  His sire Honorable Dillon is by Tapit out of a mare from the Blushing Groom sire line.  Marshal Dillon’s dam is by Successful Appeal out of a Silver Deputy mare, so she is from the In Reality and Deputy Minister sire lines. Several horses that have excelled at the RRP and in sport horse careers have come from this trainer, and we can see Marshal Dillon following in their footsteps.

MY LITTLE LULU, 2018 15.3h bay filly

While My Little Lulu may not have gotten her sire Effinex’s notable size, she did absolutely inherit his good looks. While she is a bit up at the track, she is reported to be a straightforward ride that is good to gallop. She much prefers life off the track and is reported to be much quieter in her off season. She is good in turn out and with other horses. Lulu does have some rounding on her ankles but is reported sound to race on them. While she did get a bit excited for her jog video, she stood patiently for her photo shoot and soaked up the attention of our volunteers! LE GROS BILL, 2016 16h grey gelding

Le Gros Bill is the horse EVERYONE wants- sweet, kind, sound, a lovely mover, amateur friendly, and grey! Bill’s race trainer had nothing but positive things about this boy. He will do anything for a peppermint! He is reported sound, and his only vice is that he will paw for attention in his stall. He does not do this off the track. In his off season, Bill has been turned out with a mixed herd of mares and geldings with no problem. He is perfect for the farrier and vet, with the exception of IV meds. Bill does have a tooth root that is below his jaw, but it is purely cosmetic, and as it never bothered him, his trainer never had it removed. He can be led around the track without a shank and his trainer has ridden him around in a western saddle and loose ring bit. Our volunteers witnessed his easy-going manner and lovely over tracking walk during his jog video. This boy could easily go in any direction! Bill is by the coveted Mizzen Mast, from the Cozzene/Caro line, known for passing on sensible offspring with talents in the dressage and jumping arenas. He is out of a stakes winning Giant’s Causeway mare. Sport horse pedigrees don’t come much better than this!

His Unbridled’s Song sire line is one of the best for sporting disciplines.  Pazzion is ready to find a new career because she has only one win in 20 starts, and isn’t showing enough racing ability for her trainer to keep in his overflowing string.  She is described as sound with no injuries or vices, and as a clean and neat mare who is energetic at the track but who quiets right down at the farm.  She has lovely balanced conformation with a strong shoulder and good hip angles, and her elegant pretty head adds to the attractive picture. We think when she is transitioned off the track and gets to enjoy some turn out life again, she will adapt quickly to a new career, just like most of her sire’s offspring.  To add to the attractiveness of her pedigree for sport disciplines, her dam is by Big Brown, who is from the Danzig sire line.

DONNA’SWAY, 2015 16.3h bay mare

Our volunteers really loved this sweet mare and think she will get scooped up quickly, so we suggest calling soon if she interests you. After 43 starts where she earned over $64,000 with 1 win, 7 seconds, and 7 thirds, Donna’sway is letting her connections know she has had enough of the race track. They report she is very smart and athletic. She is well behaved, but described as strong with a big stride on the track, so they feel she would be best suited for someone confident and with some experience. They could see her excelling in any sport horse discipline. Recently, Donna has started getting stressed at the track when she thinks she is going to race. This is causing her to stall walk in the early afternoons and at times, break out in hives. Her connections report at the farm , she is a totally different horse. This is quite common for horses to have a demeanor change when leaving the stressful environment of the racetrack. She settles right down when they take her out for grazing or handwalking, but they’d like her to move onto a new job where she can get turned out and not have to worry about the track. We thought her dots in her stripe were just adorable. She has a very sweet, wise expression. She was very quiet and polite for her photo shoot and job video. Donna happily grazed on a loose lead while we chatted with her connections. We think she will make someone very happy in her second career. With her build, we could see her doing well in a dressage or jumping discipline. She will be eligible for RRP 2023. Horses in this height range are always in high demand, especially at this price point, so we would act quickly on this one! Donna’sway is by Posse, who is geat sport horse sire who produces good braind athletic good jumpers, and  out of Merway, a mare by  E Dubai who was placed  into a sport horse home through our listings and has shown aptitude for dressage as well as being a great spor thorse broodmare.

STONEY’S DUE, 2018 16+h chestnut filly

Stoney’s Due is a sweet, lightly raced girl with only four lifetime starts. Her trainer reports she is a sweet girl and very athletic. She is reported to be very kind and have no stall vices. Her trainer told us Stoney would love to stand around and graze all day while simultaneously receiving lots of pets! He thinks because of her stocky build, she could be a good barrel racing prospect, but surely she could go in other directions as well. She recently (on Sept 1, 2022) clipped her left front leg and in the process, mildly bowed a tendon. She has been evaluated by a vet and provided a rehab plan. Although she is cleared to return to racing (or any other sport) after following the rehab plan, her trainer would rather her do something else not on the track. He reports that she has never been unsound on the tendon. She needs approximately 30 more days of hand walking or round pen turnout so help the tendon heal. If you’re looking for a horse for next year’s RRP-she could be a great prospect! Stoney’s Due is by Bustin Stones out of a Devil His Due mare.

OH MY BELLE, 2019 bay filly — to FLTAP

Oh My Belle just recently arrived in the Finger Lakes Area. Her connections report that while waiting for a stall to open up at the track, she was turned out in a herd at a nearby farm where she did very well! Shortly after arriving at the track, she had a hot nail during a shoeing. With the end of the meet being so near, they feel it’s best to let her move onto a different job rather than holding out for next Spring, as she wasn’t showing much interest in racing anyways. Despite being off for a few weeks, she was incredibly well behaved for her photo shoot today. She stood quietly in the wash rack while being hosed and then posed like a model while we took pictures. Her connections report she has no stall vices to report and that she is nice to handle and ride. At only three years old, she is likely to grow some more. She could be a good prospect for some time off from the track to let her finish growing, since she is still butt high. Oh My Belle will be eligible for RRP 2023. She is by Laoban, a son of Ucle Mo, out of a Dehere mare.

PEACHESANDSPICE, 2014 16.3h chestnut mare

Peaches and Spice is a true peach according to her race trainer! She is reported to be a total sweetheart to work with that loves attention and treats! She is reported sound with no vices.  Her trainer states that she is good for the vet and farrier. She is already great with a mounting block.  Volunteers admired her thick build and size, as well as her dappled coat.  Her flat kneed movement and long over tracking walk would make her really stand out in the hunter arena, but we could see her excelling in any direction someone wanted to take her.  Peaches is by Simmard who is by the very desirable sport horse sire Dixieland Band and is out of a Coronados Quest Mare. Don’t let this large, lovely mare pass you by!

ADAYDREAMBELIEVER, 2019 16.1h chestnut filly

Adaydreambeliever truly is a daydream of a horse! This large young lady is reported to be sound and has no vices.  While she does have more go than whoa, she is reported to be very safe and sound.  She was a bit excited as she has been out of training for a month.  According to her connections, she is very sweet and good to be groomed and handled.  Our volunteers witnessed her loving her pre-photo shoot grooming and pets.  Her race connection, who also rides and competes off the track, sees true upper level potential in this girl in just about any discipline. While she is lovely to work with and ride, she is not recommended as a first time restart and would do best with an experienced rider.  Even with only one shoe, Adaydreambeliever demonstrated a lovely over tracking walk and a beautiful, toe pointing trot. Her pedigree is filled with many desirable names such as Speightstown, Hard Spun, Danzig, and Gone West.  This very lightly raced filly is ready to start her new career! Don’t miss out on this very special lady!

ROOSKI, 2019 15.2h bay filly

Some of the best things come in small packages and this flashy young lady is no exception! This sweet girl begged for pets and peppermints from volunteers while her connections cleaned her up for her photo shoot. She clearly loved being groomed and getting attention, so it came as no surprise that she is her owner’s favorite! Her track connections state that if allowed, Rooski would “go sit on the couch in the office” with you, especially if you had a peppermint to offer! This lovely, lightly raced filly is reported sound and is currently barefoot. While she may be small, she does have a deep barrel and would likely take up a ton of leg! Our volunteers were wowed by her lovely movement and could see her getting attention in any arena! Rooski is by Tourist who is by the highly desired sport horse stallion Tiznow, loved by eventers and jumpers, and out of a Freud mare.

HOT TO PARTY, 2017 16h bay mare

This very pretty daughter of Desert Party is described by her handler as “just a very nice horse to be around.” He says she is well mannered, gentle, and just loves to be loved on. We admired her well-balanced conformation, elegant head and kind eye.  She has the look of an elegant show hunter, and she is also a nice mover with a flowing big step.  But a lighter work career, perhaps limited to flat work or low level jumping, would be best for her, since after she came up sore after her last workout at the end of August, her trainer x-rayed her knee and she has a hairline crack in the third joint.  We took her photos and video ten days after her workout, and she was very well behaved even though she had been on stall rest, and she moved welly a couple of steps that were slightly off before she leveled out.  This is a good sign for a good healing prognosis.  We had a show hunter trainer who is experienced with pony hunters and pony hunter breeding accompanying us around that track on the morning we saw Hot to Party, and she thought that Hot to Party would be an outstanding broodmare prospect  to cross with Welsh pony stallions to produce TB/Welsh cross pony hunters– an increasingly popular cross for the show ring. The trainer can make the x-rays available to seriously interested buyers.  Hot to Party’s sire, Desert Party, is by Street Cry, and he has proven to be a popular sport horse sire who gets ammy friendly offspring with good brains, good movement, and excellent jumping ability.  Her dam is by Roaring Fever out of a mare from the Majestic Prince sire line.

MADELINE SWEETIE, 2019 16.1h chestnut filly

This one is for the Smarty Jones fans! “Maddie” as she is lovingly called by her current connection, had many of our volunteers swooning today! There’s a lot to love about this sweet girl and we think she will be scooped up quickly, so act fast if she catches your eye! Maddie presented as a well put together, flashy, 3 year old filly. She is still a bit butt high, so likely still has some growing to do. Her connections report she is sound and has no vices, but has no interest in being a race horse. Although she has done some training, her times have not been fast enough to count as a workout, so she will not be eligible for RRP. Her trainer report she goes out on the track and just sort of lopes around at her own pace-just taking in the scenery and not in a hurry!  They report that she is good to work with on the ground. The trainers children have walked and groomed her. Maddie does prefer to be the first horse fed in the morning. Her connections also report she can be fussy about her hind legs for the farrier. They give her some sedative to make the experience better for her. Although she has stopped training, she was very quiet and polite during her photo shoot. At one point, our volunteer dropped a water bottle at her feet (accidently) and she didn’t even flinch. She displayed a floaty walk. She jogged on a loose lead and had a big step with lots of reach at the shoulder. We could see her being a fabulous hunter prospect, although surely she could go in other directions as well. Madeline Sweetie is by Smarty Jones out of a King Cha Cha mare.

FASTELLE, 2018 16.2h chestnut filly

While her name says fast, this sweet filly is just not keeping up with her peers this racing season. In 16 lifetime starts, she’s hit the board just three times and her connections have decided it’s time for her to find something she’s better suited at. She is described as sound, and is reported to have no vices. Fastelle showed off great manners, and excellent gaits for our volunteers, and she seems to have the makings of someone’s next great eventing or dressage prospect, although surely she could go in other directions as well. Fastelle is by Flat Out (who is a son of Flatter), out of a Came Home mare. Flatter is one of our volunteer’s favorite sires! This classy young girl with great bone and wisdom beyond her years will certainly not last long! She is RRP eligible and team FLF would be so proud to cheer her on. Call today to bring her home before the holidays set in!

PROFUSION, 2017 15.3h bay gelding

This very well bred son of Pioneer of the Nile was a $300,000 weanling, and the obvious quality in his pedigree makes him an enticing prospect for a sport horse career.  With three wins and 8 placings in 13 starts he has shown ability and heart.  Before a recent race entry, as pat of a morning look, the state vet scratched him, which meant he had to go on the vet’s list. His trainer then had a complete vet work up including ultrasounds and everything checked out clean with no issues.  But the owner decided that rather than wait out the couple of months it would take to work him off the vet’s list, which would bring him to the end of the Finger Lakes racing season, it was best to find him a great new non-racing home for a new career.  The assistant trainer who handles him daily told us that he is a good horse to handle and work with, with no issues and no vices. He was very mellow and perfectly behaved for his photo session and jog video and showed off cute movement with a flowing big walk and a nice spring to his step at the trot. His sire, Pioneeer of the Nile, a son of Empire Maker from the Unbridled line, is very popular as a sport horse sire, known for ammy friendly offspring with good brains and kind temperaments, as well as good movement and jumping ability.  Profusion’s dam is by First Samurai, a son of Giant’s Causeway.  Profusion has unlimited potential for any discipline, and is offered at a bargain price, so act fast if you are interested in bringing this well bred son of the great Pioneer of the Nile into your stable.

BOSTON BILLY, 2017 15.2h dark bay gelding

Sometimes the best things come in small packages. For those of you of average height who do not need a big horse, but are looking for a well-bred upper level prospect that has big strided movement to equal a larger mount, Boston Billy is your horse!  We admired his athletic balanced build and shiny dappled appearance. His trainer says that Billy is a sound and happy horse.  He posed like a gentleman and jogged on a loose lead without even a chain over his nose. Billy displayed light ground covering movement with good reach from the shoulders. Billy has one win in 28 starts, has yet to hit the board in 5 races this year, and his connections realize that second win is elusive so it is best to move him on to a new career — and his potential for any new career is unlimited.  Billy’s handler describes him as a playful and smart horse, without a mean bone in his body — but he likes to test people to see what he can get away with. As soon as Billy realizes he can’t get away with something with a person, he doesn’t try it again, his handler reports. His personality means that Billy is best suited for an experienced and patient person who will firmly and confidently let Billy know they are the alpha, but without undue harshness. HIs handler says Billy would love to find his own person that he can bond with and develop mutual trust and understanding — and then he will give you his all. Billy has experience being around young kids, dogs, and lots of activity, and he is fine with all that.  His sire is Congrats, by AP Indy. Billy’s dam is by Arch, from the Kris S./Roberto sire line and a Danig and Alydar damsire line, and she is out of a Montbrook mare from the Buckpasser line.  These are stout proven sport horse lines.

Stoneharbor Blonde, 2018, 16h chestnut filly

Located at the Finger Lakes Race Track in Farmington, NY (near Rochester, NY).
When Blondie was brought out of the barn we immediately noted her shiny coat with cute, white spots throughout, and her beautiful solid bodied build. Her handler described Blondie as very sweet and laid back, sound, good to ride and good to pony in the post parade (her handler is also her “pony girl”). Blondie has had 15 races with starts at multiple east coast tracks and has compiled a 15 2-1-2 record. Because she isn’t showing the competitive spirit needed to continue in race training, her owner has agreed to stop on her and let her find a new career.  And what unlimited potential she indeed has for a sport horse career!  Blondie displayed friendly interaction with the volunteers and jogged politely on a loose lead, showing off nice even movement. She is fully eligible for the 2023 RRP. Her sire is Speighster, a young son of the great Speightstown, from the Gone West sire line which is a great sport horse line. Deputy Minister, Bold Ruler, and Blushing Groom appear on her dam side — these are some of the best sport horse sire lines.

SPORTINI, 2018 17h bay colt

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington NY (near Rochester)
The quality breeding shines through in this stunning big colt, who exudes elegance. On a day when we saw one beautiful horse after another, Sportini rose to the top of the class as “the fairest of them all.” The photos do not do justice to how gorgeous this horse is in person.  He is very well put together with a chiseled beautiful head and kind eye that draws you in.  He is not studdish at all — indeed we were taken by how friendly and polite he is. He just loved the neck skritches we gave him, nuzzling for more. His groom raved about what a great horse he is, wonderful to handle with no vices. He showed off very good movement in his jog video, with a big stride and a light flatter kneed and flowing trot.  Sportini’s trainer says that his left knee gets slightly sore for a day or two after a race, so despite how well Sportini is performing he thinks it is best to find him a new career.  We photographed Sportini only three days after he had raced — and won! — and he showed no ill effects at all.  We felt both knees, and they were both cold and tight with no filling. Sportini has raced 9 times this year and has compiled an admirable record of three wins, four seconds, and a third.  His trainer reports that this excellent racing record is a testament to how much heart and try Sportini has — and he is looking to put that willing attitude to work in the new discipline of your choice! He is sired by Elusive Quality, who is from the Gone West sire line. His dam is a daughter of the great Bernardini, a son of AP Indy. Sportini comes from the top quality Godolphin breeding program.  Sportini is so well behaved as a colt that you could keep him intact and use him in sport horse breeding while also competing him — but just imagine what a glorious gelding he will be!

PRINCIPINO, 2018 16.1h dark bay colt

Located at Finger Lakes Race Track, Farmington NY (near Rochester)
WOW– this drop dead gorgeous young colt with a great temperament,  lovely movement, and the ideal sport horse pedigree just shouts quality and potential for a sport horse career — he’s fancy enough for the show hunter ring, and has the uphill build and pedigree for eventing and jumping or dressage.  His trainer says he is very kind and not the slightest bit studdish, so you could leave him intact and use him for sport horse breeding while also competing him.  But wow what a great gelding he will be! He has a beautiful head and kind eye, uphill build with a good topline.  He is clean legged and reported to be sound.  He showed off lovely light and even movement for his jog video.  His trainer reports that the owner is overextended and has to reduce their number of horses. Principino has yet to win, but in his 9 races he has two seconds and 4 thirds.  He last raced in October 2021, so he is fully eligible for the 2023 RRP. The current trainer, who takes great are with their horses and has been the source for some of our most coveted and successful-in-new-career listings, reports that Principino came to her a couple of months ago  in less than ideal condition, barefoot and underweight. Under her great care he is filling out and has returned to health and happiness — but he still has some filling out to do. (To see how stunning he looks when fully fleshed out and shiny, see the photo that accompanies his pedigree query entry — the pedigree query entry is linked below.)  Principino is sired by Cairo Prince, who is by Pioneer of the Nile and out of a Holy Bull mare.  Cairo Prince, Pioneer of the Nile, and Holy Bull have well deserved reputations for producing excellent sport horses with great temperaments, willing attitudes, excellent movement and jumping ability.   Principino’s dam is by the recently deceased Include, a son of Broad Brush — both coveted sport horse sires. A rarity for modern US thoroughbred pedigrees, he has no Storm Cat or Mr. Prospector in the first 5 generations of his pedigree. But what you do see in those five generations are stout sport horse lines such as Unbridled, Fappiano, Holy Bull, Hail to Reason, Turn-To,  and Damascus.
